How much subsidy do I get under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana?
Roughly ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and a capped maximum of about ₹78,000 for systems of 3 kW and above (as per the latest MNRE notification). The subsidy is credited directly to your bank account after commissioning and inspection.
Who is eligible for the rooftop solar subsidy?
Any residential consumer with a valid electricity connection and ownership/consent for the rooftop. The house should not have availed rooftop subsidy earlier. We verify eligibility during the free survey.
What documents are required?
Electricity bill, Aadhaar card, bank passbook or cancelled cheque, and proof of roof ownership. We prepare and file the complete application on the national portal on your behalf.
How long does a rooftop solar installation take?
Typically 2–4 weeks end-to-end: portal application and DISCOM feasibility (1–2 weeks), installation (2–3 days), then net-meter installation and subsidy release.
What is PM-KUSUM and how much subsidy do farmers get?
PM-KUSUM provides 30–60% combined central and state subsidy for standalone solar agriculture pumps (Component B) and for solarising existing grid-connected pumps (Component C). Farmers get reliable daytime irrigation and can sell surplus power to the grid.
Can I run my home at night on solar?
Grid-tied systems export daytime surplus and import at night via net metering, so your bill nets off. For areas with outages we also design hybrid systems with battery backup.
What maintenance does a solar system need?
Mainly periodic module cleaning and an annual electrical health check. Panels carry up to 25-year performance warranties (OEM) and inverters 5–10 years; we offer AMC plans for worry-free upkeep.
Do you work with Panchayats and government departments?
Yes. We execute solar street lighting, drinking water systems, WTP and STP packages for Panchayats, RWSS and urban local bodies, including projects aligned with Jal Jeevan Mission. Our GST and registrations support tender participation.
Which areas do you serve?
We are based near Bhubaneswar, Odisha and execute across the state — Rayagada, Gajapati, Khordha and beyond — with completed projects in Jharkhand as well.
How do I get a quotation?
Use the Contact page, WhatsApp us at +91 94395 25379, or chat with the assistant on this site. We schedule a free site survey and share a detailed quotation with subsidy calculation.
What size solar system do I need for my home?
As a rule of thumb, every 1 kW of rooftop solar generates about 4–4.5 units per day (≈120–135 units/month) in Odisha and needs roughly 80–100 sq ft of shadow-free roof. A 3 kW system suits a typical home using 250–300 units/month. Our calculator recommends the right size from your bill.
How much roof area is required?
Approximately 80–100 sq ft per kW for standard panels. So 1 kW needs ~100 sq ft, 3 kW ~300 sq ft, and 5 kW ~500 sq ft of unshaded roof. Elevated structures can free up the space below for other use.
What is net metering and how does it help me?
A net meter records both the solar power you export to the grid (daytime surplus) and the power you import (at night). You're billed only on the net. This effectively lets the grid act as your free 'battery', so a correctly sized system can bring your bill close to zero.
Will solar work during power cuts or monsoon?
A standard grid-tied system switches off during a grid outage for safety. For backup during cuts we offer hybrid systems with batteries. Output dips on heavily overcast monsoon days but annual generation already accounts for seasonal variation, and net metering banks your surplus from sunnier months.
What is the payback period for rooftop solar?
After the PM Surya Ghar subsidy, most residential systems pay back in roughly 3–5 years through bill savings, then deliver largely free power for the remaining 20+ years of panel life. Exact payback depends on your tariff and consumption.
Can housing societies and apartments avail the scheme?
Yes. Group Housing Societies and Resident Welfare Associations get ₹18,000 per kW for common-area systems (including provision for EV charging) up to defined limits. We handle society-level applications and common-meter arrangements.
Do you provide financing or EMI options?
Rooftop solar is eligible for low-interest loans from several banks under the scheme (for example, collateral-free loans for systems up to 3 kW at concessional rates). We help you connect with financing so you can pay through easy EMIs.
Is the subsidy paid to me or to you?
The PM Surya Ghar subsidy is credited directly to the beneficiary's own bank account by the Government after the system is installed, inspected and commissioned — not to the vendor. You pay the net amount and receive the subsidy in your account.
What happens if I consume less or generate excess power?
Excess generation is exported and credited via net metering, offsetting future bills within the settlement period as per your DISCOM's policy. Right-sizing the system to your consumption gives the best financial return, which is exactly what our survey optimises.
Do you offer maintenance contracts (AMC) after installation?
Yes. Beyond the workmanship warranty, we offer annual maintenance contracts covering scheduled cleaning, performance checks, inverter health and priority breakdown support — keeping your generation at peak for years.
Are your installations safe and standards-compliant?
All systems use BIS/IEC-compliant modules and inverters, proper earthing and surge protection, and are installed to DISCOM technical norms. We are GST-registered, MSME (Udyam) registered and ISO certified, and follow the approved-vendor guidelines of the national portal.
Scheme benefits are as per the latest Government notifications and may be revised by the authorities.
